Sabertooth Whitewater R2 Inflation Kayak Review: Introduction
The AIRE Sabertooth 12 Frameless Cataraft is the ultimate R2-R4 paddle cat. Designed for running difficult streams, the Sabertooth Whitewater R2 Inflation Kayak is more than suitable for up to a 4 man paddle crew, or 2 paddlers with light gear. At 12’5″ and 29″ of rocker, the Sabertooth rides very good over waves and holes with plenty of speed and agility for going through even the toughest of steep creeks and rivers.
The Sabertooth Whitewater R2 Inflation Kayak is built with 4 separate AIREcells, giving it a rigid and responsive crew paddling profile, while being very durable and easy to patch in the event of a mishap. A high-riding, almost instantly bailing heavy PVC mesh floor allows the Sabertooth to clear big hydraulics with ease and bail extremely quickly when it does get swamped. The floor comes with built in foot cups and a removable foam kneeling pad. An optional thwart is always available for paddlers that want additional bracing options. Four handles are positioned in the interior bow and stern so two people can easily pick up and get the boat to and from the river or on portages.
