Summit 100X Kayak
Summit 100X Kayak is the perfect example of cheap and decent. You may encounter some problems, but you will overlook them because you know what you paid for and the advantages are worth, especially if you are not a professional kayaker.
Summit 100X Kayak Advantages
Here are the main advantages of buying Summit 100X Kayak: it is lightweight (only 35 lbs.), it has high durability (10 ft. hull), it has a pretty comfortable seat, wide cockpit, it has front deck bungee cords and in the back it has a storage hatch (within the hatch, it has bungees).
Summit 100X Kayak Disadvantages
There are some disadvantages, but as I said, you can overlook them, so here they are: you don’t have access to space behind the seat, only to the storage hatch, you don’t have a place to hold your paddles and the lip around the cockpit is not pronounced enough to hold a cover.
So as far as I’ve tested it, the first 10 – 20 minutes will be about trying to figure out how not to tip over in the water, because it has a really unstable feeling at the beginning. But after you figure that out you’re good to go and you can enjoy the ride. If the wind blows really hard, it can take you off course, so you need to correct your path more often than you should. Because it is really lightweight, you can easily throw it in the back of your truck whenever you feel like going for a ride.
You can take this kayak for fishing, or just for exploring slow streams of water. It is clearly not designed for pro kayaking, but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t even look at this review, if you wanted a kayak for professional use.
In conclusion, for the price ($250) it has, it is a really good casual kayak and I have to admit it is really fun even though it has some problems.
